New Barnes and Noble Nook

Barnes and Noble just recently announced a new version of the Nook eReader. This Nook will have a 6 inch touchscreen and will use the ever popular E-Ink display technology. The main feature however would be the fact that this new Nook can run for up to 2 months off of one single charge. The all new Nook or "The Simple Touch Reader", as it's being marketed, won't ship until June 10th but of course is available for pre-order now for $139 through Barnes & Noble's website.

This new Nook is ultra light and is being touted for it's high portability. The Nook will have WiFi capabilities but will not have 3G access unfortunately. However it's still a pretty good bargain at $139. If your looking for an affordable eReader for reading books and nothing more then this may be a feasible option. The E-Ink technology mimics the actual look of a printed page and is not backlit like the Nook Color or a computer screen. If you do alot of reading then the backlit screen of a computer could cause visual discomfort after extended reading sessions.

If you're currently in the market for a new eReader I would definitely suggest you do your research before you make your purchase. The market is quickly becoming saturated with tablet devices, some great and some not so great. It's important to know what you're looking for before you make your final decision. If this is your issue then I plan to help you with it, stay tuned and I'll tell you about my search for the perfect eReader and what I learned in the process. More coming soon!

New Age Parenting - I think not!

Okay so I'm only an hour into this whole blogging thing and I've already got something I want to talk about, so I read an article about a family that just recently had a baby and have decided to keep the baby's gender under wraps. They have decided to not tell anyone the gender of their child because they want the child to "decide" what gender he or she would like to fit into...............................SERIOUSLY?
Here's the article:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/20110524/ts_yblog_thelookout/parents-keep-childs-gender-under-wraps

Now of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion so here's mine: they're crazy! This can't possibly help their child in the long run. It will only cause confusion just as it has done with their other two sons whom they've allowed to choose their own gender.
If you decide you want to have a relationship with another woman or another man, that is a choice that you may very well make. But one CANNOT choose their gender, when you are born you are either born a "girl" or a "boy" and it is up to your parents to teach you what that means.
It sounds to me like these two parents actually wanted a girl and since they haven't had any luck they've just decided they're going to turn their boys into girls.
Eh, whatever. I think it's ridiculous. If you have a boy, you raise that boy to be a man. You teach him things children need to know like how to be model citizens, how to brush their teeth, right from wrong, the importance of telling the truth, not that he can also be a girl if he wants, that's crazy! If he grows up and decides that he feels otherwise then so be it, but don't cause confusion where there doesn't have to be any.
Anyway, my mini rant is over. Keep checking back with me cause I have some interesting reviews coming up soon!

New Beginnings

So this is my first blog and I must say I'm pretty excited about it. And if you're reading this right now then  OH MY GOD, I freakin love you!
But moving forward...so first thing I'm sure you're wondering is what's the point? Why should I venture to the Indigo Spot every week to read what BreeBerry has to say?
Well I suppose I'll just start with a little backstory...
So it all started when I was 5...just kidding, I wouldn't do that to you.
Okay, so on to the real story:
I have a friend who is completely in the dark ages. Limited internet access, no cable, and no real interest in any of it. So I'm constantly updating her on everything, the latest video to go "viral" (yes I'm tired of hearing it too), the newest music videos, the latest gossip, the latest and greatest in electronics, you name it.
After a while I started to feel like a human news feed and so I figured hey, why not put all of my info in a blog. If everybody else can why can't I?
So I definitely expect this blog to take more focus as I go along. But bear with with for now while I cover all manner of things from general info, to the latest in entertainment gossip, to my own personal reviews of some of the hottest electronics on the market.

So yeah, I think I'm in for a long ride as this will definitely be a learning experience for me. But if you're willing to read then I'm ready to write. So...enjoy the show...
